We are a family outfit (Dad and two sons) seeking to take on a few hundred more acres. We are not a mega farm, however we need to stay competitive to keep our family business thriving. As my father moves toward retirement we need to raise the capital nessesary to take over the farm. My father has been in business in the Grand Ledge area for decades and retains a reputation of honesty and improving the land we farm. We have the equipment nessesary to clear fence rows, manage treelines, bury rock piles, fix and install drainage, etc. We have our own spreader truck to manage fertility and do not deplete the ground of valueable nutrients. Because of the investments we make in the ground we plant, we prefer to have leases 3+ years. Beware of the farmer who only wants a 1 or 2 year lease, they are known to leave the ground in poor condition.
Leases are typically cash rentals $100-200 per acre over a 3-5 years with a legal contract (terms are negotiable).
We also offer custom spraying, harvesting, and other services to farmers in the area.
