Responsible for the development, application and maintenance of Quality Assurance systems for assembling components into finished products. Develop and initiate methods and procedures for inspection, testing and evaluation of electro-mechanical products in both AC and DC applications.
Additionally, responsible for the implementation and supervision of all in-process inspections, including but not limited to the following: in-process statistical process control (SPC), functional testing of products and process capability analysis.
Specific activities may include:
Evaluate and recommend disposition of quarantine inventory and prepare appropriate reports to keep upper management abreast of quality levels in the manufacturing areas.
Provide leadership, direction and supervision to the employees within the quality assurance inspection group.
Devises sampling procedures and guidelines for sampling procedures, supervises the design of form for recording quality checks and preparation of instruction for these products.
Establish programs to evaluate precision and accuracy of production and processing equipment and testing, measurement and analytical facilities.
Manage a highly profitable repair and Maintenance (RMO) process.
Work with Purchasing to develop and monitor and assess the quality of Suppliers products.
Determine daily priorities for quality assurance team based on input from Production Inventory Control.
Develop and implement methods and procedures for disposition and devise methods to assess the cost and responsibility of poor quality material.
Lead a facility wide Safety committee.
Manage and maintain pertinent quality records in accordance with corporate retention schedules.
Conduct training programs, develop training materials and deliver training materials on Quality Assurance activities.
At least ten years of previous experience in a manufacturing environment with progressing levels of responsibility in a Quality department/role
Working knowledge and experience with the application of Lean Manufacturing tools
Experience with Root Cause Analysis and Corrective Action tools and processes
Previous experience with ISO9001
Experience with electrical safety standards in high voltage testing applications and building maintenance
Experience with ERP, MRP and CRM packages preferred
Bachelor's degree in Engineering or other Technical area, advanced degree preferred
