Ensure that any applications deployed will properly scale and meet expected SLAs.
Responsible for creating and maintaining federated performance and capacity databases to facilitate monthly reporting of “system health” of environment.
Work with various teams to create/architect solution to facilitate reporting of critical performance/capacity metrics for Windows, Linux, VMware, AIX servers and storage and network subsystems.
Create service level dashboards and capacity reports for applications to migrate, upgrade, release and deployment projects
Perform APM tuning of applications in development and critical production applications as well as to provide 3rd level performance support.
Provide evaluation of application performance and capacity on system resources usage to sustain business application volume processing
Prepare computing benchmark studies to evaluate datacenter hardware used for applications
Create Service Level Dashboards for Senior Management
Excellent written and oral communication skills who can traverse multiple levels of management and be able to work well with various technical groups including: network, database, applications and systems.
Good Unix and shell scripting
Good SQL skills and database skills with SQL server
Basic statistical analysis skills and graphical skills
All office products
10+ years experience in Application PerformanceMonitoring, Analysis and Capacity Planning
Trending and capacity forecasting of resource usage (processor, disk, memory, network requirements as well as storage)
Working knowledge of the following:
Windows, and UNIX (specifically AIX) Operating System tuning methods.
Working knowledge of Database tuning methods- Oracle, DB2 and SQL Server
Good networking architecture expertise
OPNET, TeamQuest toolset experience
Basic knowledge of SAN architectures and tuning methods
